How to use this calculator

Formula and method

Start with completed calendar years, add completed calendar months from that anniversary, then count remaining whole days. End-of-month anniversaries are clamped to the last valid day of the target month.

Worked example

From June 15, 2000 to August 31, 2026, the elapsed chronological age is 26 years, 2 months, and 16 days.

Assumptions and result interpretation

  • Dates are treated as calendar dates, not clock timestamps or time zones.
  • A February 29 anniversary is clamped to February's final day in a non-leap year.
  • The tool does not make developmental, medical, psychological, educational, or diagnostic judgments.

Understanding the result

Calendar years and months do not have fixed day lengths. Calculating completed calendar units avoids the drift caused by dividing total days by 365 or months by 30.
