Formula and method

Arithmetic mean = sum of all values ÷ number of values. Median is the middle sorted value; range = maximum − minimum.

Worked example

For 2, 4, 4, and 10, the sum is 20 and count is 4, so the mean is 5. The median is 4, mode is 4, and range is 8.
