Budget arithmetic

Total monthly income is the sum of income entries. Total monthly expenses includes every expense category, including savings. Remaining cash flow = income − expenses. Percentages are shown only when income is greater than zero.

What this does not prescribe

This arithmetic tool does not impose a 50/30/20 plan, zero-based budget, debt strategy, or emergency-fund target, and it does not estimate taxes from gross pay.

Worked example

With monthly income of 5,000 and expenses of 4,150, including 500 in savings, monthly remaining cash flow is 850. If expenses exceed income, the result is shown as a shortfall.

Calculation boundaries

Results use only your entered assumptions. No geolocation, financial-account, bank, property-tax, assessor, vehicle, dealer, lease-rate, or market API is contacted.
