How much are those shoes? Anything on this table is free. Free? Free?
Why is it free? I just get overwhelmed with a lot of stuff on the inside and I have to put it outside. The shoes are free? are free.
All this stuff out here is free and everything on the inside is a dollar or less. A dollar? A dollar, yes. How do you make money selling stuff for a buck?
Well, that's the thing. If I get enough people in here that just support, we make the money to pay for the building. That's really all that really matters. Has there been enough?
No. You mind if I put these on quick? Yeah. How long have you had the store?
Five years. Is this something you plan on keeping doing? Unfortunately, last day of the month I plan on just calling it quits. Why are you closing?
It's hard to get people in here. Are you losing money? Yes. So, if you're falling behind, why do you keep selling it for a dollar?
Well, because I know people need stuff. What are you going to do when the store closes? Focus on some cleaning. Cleaning?
Yes. I have a small cleaning business and we do commercial offices. I have a whole lot of people relying on me. You try to take care of people around here?
Mhm. How so? Well, somebody comes into the store and they can't afford anything, I just let them take it. Even the stuff in here?
Yeah. What if they didn't have a dollar? They can have it. It was given to me.
She had a last contact with her son and then she found out that he had passed. And she had to get to the funeral and she didn't have anything to wear at the funeral. So, I let her get a whole outfit, shoes, purse. In my opinion, you have success and you have compassion, you have a big heart.
Yeah, it's so big they want me to wear this heart monitor. Is that real? You have a heart monitor? What do you mean?
Well, it's not my heart. I just been having heart palpitations. Yeah? Lately.
Just take it day by day. I mean, medical bills are expensive. So, what does it mean for the community if you close the doors? They're not going to like it.
Does it make you sad thinking about closing the doors? Yeah, every time. Do you think God is playing a role in a lot of this? Mhm.
Yeah? Yeah, cuz he keeps sending people my way. They say he gives the strongest battles to the strongest soldiers and So, that means Yeah. You're a strong soldier.
Yes, I am. You're behind on your bills? Mhm. I owe last month and this month.
For the year, how much is it? The rent is 2280. Yeah, you still got a smile on your face. You have to.
You got to make jokes and laugh at things like this, you know what I'm saying? Cuz stress kills. Yeah. And I'm learning that.
So, I want to be I want to tell you the truth. I'm here because one of your friends nominated you and said that you're a great person and you do good work for the community. And so, I have this for you. Mhm.
I appreciate you. And I didn't need the shoes. And you were offering to give them to me for free. You need anything else?
You just let me know, you know? I appreciate it. How can people support your business? Tell a friend to tell a friend, send traffic my way.
Everything's a dollar. Everything's a dollar. But you accept donations. I do.
Okay. Yes, I take donations. Yes. Thank you.
