Exact relationship and formula

Degrees Celsius = K − 273.15. Kelvin = °C + 273.15. The offset is exact.

Reverse mode applies the inverse relationship from the same exact definition.

Worked example

0 K = −273.15 °C; 273.15 K = 0 °C; 293.15 K = 20 °C.

Kelvin uses the symbol K without a degree sign. Physical temperature inputs below 0 K, or below −273.15 °C in reverse mode, are rejected as below absolute zero.
