How it works

The browserโ€™s Intl.Segmenter groups user-visible graphemes, so joined emoji and accents can count as one character. A code-point fallback is used in browsers without it. Whitespace is excluded by default.

A a ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€ gives a 2 and ๐Ÿ˜€ 2, each 50% with default case folding and whitespace exclusion.

Percentages use the total counted words or characters as the denominator. At most 500 results appear, even if the text has more unique items. The input limit is 100,000 characters.

Privacy and limitations

Analysis runs in your browser. This page does not put entered text into a URL, browser storage, analytics, or a server request. Linguistic word boundaries and grapheme support can vary by browser; this is a general text utility, not a linguistic parser.
