How it works
Each JPEG is signature-checked, decoded in its visual orientation, and re-encoded sequentially as PNG.
Example
A 1600 × 900 JPEG becomes a 1600 × 900 PNG after visual-orientation decoding; prior JPEG loss is not reversed.
Formats, quality, and limits
PNG is lossless for the newly encoded decoded raster; conversion cannot recover detail already lost through JPEG compression.
Source EXIF, GPS, camera, artist, comment, and filename metadata are not copied. Browser decoding may normalize color; ICC or Display P3 round-tripping is not promised.
