Guided stereo channel check
Headphone Tester
Play a short, conservative browser-generated signal through the left, right, or both stereo channels.
All inputs, timing samples, device events, audio state, and results stay in this browser tab. Nothing is uploaded, persisted, placed in the URL, or sent to analytics.
Run the local check
Start with your device volume low. Playback begins only after you choose a channel and stops automatically after 1.2 seconds.
Signal: 440 Hz sine tone · internal gain 0.05 · maximum 1.2 seconds. System and device volume remain under your control.

Method
Left uses gains 0.05/0, right uses 0/0.05, and both uses 0.05/0.05. Every new selection stops and disconnects the previous signal first.
Limitations
This basic channel check cannot prove headphones are defect-free, calibrated, balanced to a specification, or safe at the system volume you choose. It is not a hearing test, audiogram, medical screening, quality ranking, or frequency-response measurement.
Privacy
No account, server calculation, fetch, XHR, beacon, cookie, local storage, session storage, IndexedDB, device identifier, or user-value telemetry is used.
