This is not a medical hearing test, SPL meter, calibrated instrument, certified frequency-response measurement, audio forensic tool, or diagnostic device.
Method, privacy, and limits
After explicit permission, a MediaStream source feeds a Web Audio AnalyserNode with FFT size 2048 and smoothing 0.75. Bin frequency equals bin × sampleRate / FFTSize; the displayed peak is an estimate at that bin resolution. Stop, reset, visibility loss, interruption, error, and unload cancel animation, disconnect nodes, close the AudioContext, and stop every track.
