La Crescent is the formative Minnesota connection
The Minnesota Star Tribune documents Franta's childhood and high-school years in La Crescent. It also records that his first YouTube upload occurred while he was in high school, tying the beginning of his public digital work directly to that Minnesota period.
The same reporting says he left Saint John's University and moved to Los Angeles in 2012. La Crescent is therefore the supported upbringing and creator-origin relationship, not evidence of a current Minnesota base.
Uploading began before the audience breakthrough
