Josh Liljenquist and J.J. McCarthy During the Target Warm-Supplies Project

On February 8, 2025, Josh Liljenquist and J.J. McCarthy gathered blankets, pillows, and other warm supplies at Target in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The photograph shows both men behind loaded shopping carts before the supplies were distributed to people experiencing homelessness. It documents a practical stage of the outreach—the purchasing and preparation that happened before distribution—while keeping the people receiving support outside the frame. Josh, known online as Joshlilj, is shown at left, with J.J. McCarthy at right in the clearly documented project photograph.
