Creator philanthropy is a broad descriptive term for public giving, fundraising, volunteering, nonprofit work and in-kind assistance involving an online creator or creator group. It is not one legal status, one funding source or one measurement system.

Why classification matters
Calling every activity a donation can erase the people and organizations that supplied money, products or professional work. Calling every organization a sponsor can falsely imply payment. A useful record identifies the creator's role, the funding or assistance source, the beneficiary, the date and the documented outcome.
