Geometry calculator

Triangle Calculator

Solve non-degenerate general triangles with SSS, SAS, or ASA/AAS inputs using the laws of cosines and sines.

Choose known triangle measurements

SSA is intentionally excluded because it can have zero, one, or two valid solutions.

Enter measurements and select Calculate.

General-triangle method

SSS uses the law of cosines and Heron’s formula. SAS uses the included angle to solve the third side. ASA/AAS finds the third angle and uses the law of sines.

Ownership and validation

This general solver rejects degenerate side sets and invalid angle sums. The existing Pythagorean Theorem Calculator remains the focused right-triangle missing-side tool; ambiguous SSA is excluded.

Worked example

The editable example values above demonstrate the formula and expose each assumption used in the result.
