Formula and method
Estimated minutes equal word count divided by the entered speaking rate. The displayed clock duration rounds the mathematical total to the nearest second; exact decimal minutes remain visible.
Worked example
1,300 words at 130 WPM equals exactly 10 minutes. At 150 WPM, 600 words equals 4 minutes.
Limits
This is an arithmetic estimate, not a prediction of an exact presentation. Pauses, slides, emphasis, questions, and audience interaction can change actual duration.
Common questions
Are values uploaded?
No. Calculation happens locally and values are not placed in URLs or browser storage.
Why can the estimate differ?
The calculator applies only the displayed arithmetic and assumptions. It cannot model unentered formatting or real-world timing factors.
