Moles Calculator

Solve the mass–moles–molar-mass relationship from two entered quantities without parsing a chemical formula.

Calculate

Enter values and calculate.

Formula and method

Use n = m ÷ M and its rearrangements. Mass is normalized to grams; molar mass is entered directly.

Worked example

10 g divided by 5 g/mol equals 2 mol.

Important boundary

This does not parse chemical formulas. Use the separate Molecular Weight Calculator when a formula must be converted to molar mass.

Common mistake

Use compatible dimensions and distinguish the quantity being solved from the quantities entered. The calculator normalizes supported units before arithmetic and rejects zero, negative, malformed, or unbounded values.
