Board-layout method
Boards run parallel to deck length. Rows = ceiling((deck width + gap) ÷ (board width + gap)); with zero gap, rows = ceiling(width ÷ board width). Rows × length gives base linear footage.
Surface-board boundary
Waste is an editable estimate. Whole boards use total adjusted footage divided by stock length and assume efficient offcut reuse—not a cutting optimization or structural deck design.
