One-way ANOVA method
Between- and within-group sums of squares produce their degrees of freedom and mean squares. F = MS-between / MS-within; its upper-tail probability is computed locally from the F distribution.
Worked example
Groups 1–3, 4–6, and 7–9 produce F = 27 with df = (2, 6) and p = 0.001.
Scope and limitations
This is one-way ANOVA for independent raw-data groups only. It does not perform repeated-measures, two-way, Welch ANOVA, ANCOVA, MANOVA, or post-hoc comparisons. Zero within-group variance is reported as an undefined ordinary F ratio.
