Printable Index Card Template & Maker

Make blank or ruled index cards at their real 3×5, 4×6, or 5×8-inch size. Export one exact-size card or a cut-ready Letter/A4 sheet, with no signup or watermark.

Make an index card sheet

Set card size, ruling and paper layout. The preview updates locally; PDF and SVG are generated only when you choose an export.

Card and paper

One-card mode uses the selected card’s exact physical size. Sheet settings apply only to multi-up mode; cards are never scaled down to fit.

Writing surface

Ruling spacing accepts 0.15–1.00 inches. The blank header leaves room above ruled lines; no title text is collected.

Sheet and cutting

A minimum 0.25-inch gap keeps neighboring crop marks apart. With guides off, dashed card edges appear in the preview only, not in the PDF, SVG, or print.

Physical card sizes

The generator uses 72 PDF points per inch. Portrait cards measure 3×5 (216×360 pt), 4×6 (288×432 pt), or 5×8 inches (360×576 pt). Landscape swaps width and height without changing the card’s area.

Single card or multi-up

Single-card mode makes a PDF page exactly as large as one card, for printers that accept that media. Multi-up mode centers as many full-size cards as safely fit on Letter or A4, using your chosen sheet orientation, margin, and gap. It never stretches or shrinks cards to raise the count. Optional crop marks sit outside card corners; the faint card edge marks the cut line.

Ruled or blank

Ruled cards use measured line spacing and four adjustable writing margins. You can reserve a blank heading area above the lines. Blank cards have no internal rules. This is a physical index-card layout tool for notes and reference, not a flashcard learning system, recipe-card designer, business-card template, or folded note card.

Print and privacy

Choose the matching paper size, disable “Fit to Page,” and print at Actual Size / 100%. Some printers cannot accept small card stock or print to every edge; printer drivers may impose margins or scaling. Test one sheet before a large run. All settings remain in this browser tab’s memory. The page has no account, upload, analytics of settings, or saved layout history.
