Supported RFC 9535 core scope
This bounded local evaluator supports the root identifier, child names, array indexes, array slices, wildcards, and descendant segments. Filter selectors, unions, and function extensions are outside V1 and produce a clear error. JSON is limited to 200,000 characters, paths to 2,000 characters and 100 segments, traversal to 100,000 nodes, and displayed results to 500 of at most 10,000 matches.
The parser never uses eval, Function, or remote evaluation. Compare XML with the separate XPath Tester.
