Room trim material estimate
Baseboard Calculator
Estimate baseboard length and whole stock boards from room dimensions or a measured perimeter. Subtract openings where no baseboard will be installed.
Baseboard summary
Room details
The board count is a length-only estimate, not a cut plan.
How it works
A rectangular room's perimeter is 2 × (length + width). Or enter a measured perimeter directly. For each room, subtract the total width of doors or passages without trim. Add the net lengths, multiply by 1 + waste allowance ÷ 100, then divide by stock board length and round up to whole boards.
Feet and inches display linear feet; meters and centimeters display linear meters. The stock length entry uses the displayed unit.
Worked example
A 12 ft × 10 ft room has a 44 ft perimeter. Subtract 4 ft of openings to get 40 ft of trim. With 10% waste, plan for 44 ft. Eight-foot stock boards require 6 boards after rounding up.
Count each room independently before combining net length; this estimate does not optimize cuts or joints.
