Supporting Harper’s Medical Treatment

How much are you guys selling the cookies for? Hi, they're actually just donation only. What are you guys raising money for? So, this is Harper.

Hi, Harper. She has a rare syndrome. Hi. And she is traveling all the way to Italy for her medical treatment.

There's no current treatment options for her available in the United States. No. to travel all the way to Italy for her medical treatment, and it's going to cost us about $180,000 out of pocket. Insurance doesn't cover?

No, unfortunately not. She has tangled vessels that are throughout her body that cause these little red spots, and that's what causes her to think. It looks like a heart. You got a little heart on your hand?

Mhm. Do they hurt sometimes, Harper? Yeah. She does have one that's um on her bottom that's the largest one, and that one causes her the most pain and hard for her to sit.

These tiny little red spots that she has, when you see them, you think that they just look like a little birthmark, but unfortunately, those are what's causing her so much pain because of the tangled vessels. If we don't get this treatment, then she will unfortunately live with it and continue to keep having pain. What is it? You got me a gift?

Oh, look at that. Well, thank you. So, what does Harper like to do? She really loves dance and gymnastics.

She gets to do tap and ballet now. You like tap and ballet? Yeah. Yeah?

Sticky bubble gum. Yeah, the sticky bubble gum. It was a hard pill to swallow just getting her diagnosis, and they basically told us that she would live her entire life with pain and just be prepared for that. When we found this in Italy, it was the only chance of hope that we have had this entire time.

They take a device. This device will go in and basically kill off those veins that are tangled, thus causing her all of that pain. Right now in the US, the only thing they have is a bleomycin, and it doesn't go in far enough to do anything to those veins. What's the hardest part for you?

Um just knowing that she's in pain. um sorry, knowing that she's in pain every day and um that there's nothing that I can do for her. When we went to the doctor the last time, she had asked me if the if the doctor would fix her that they can't help her. It's just It's just been really hard for us, so we have to raise this or she's going to continue living with pain.
