Can I help you with the gate? Sure. Yeah, what do you got? This is what keeps me alive.
You're kidding. [music] I'm in complete renal failure. My kidneys have completely stopped working and I have to rely on this stuff here to to to live. I have this little tube Woah.
comes out of my abdomen and then it goes into a little machine, plugs in and then there's a bag in there that gives me fluid and I do that three or four times a day. How much is it? $2,500, $3,000 a month sometimes. Woah.
Have you had to dip into your retirement? Oh, it's gone. It's gone? Every bit of it.
$300,000. So you drained your retirement to stay alive? Yes, sir. God has us and I know that.
I have to trust that. I have to get a kidney transplant and I've had a bone marrow transplant. So because of that bone marrow transplant, it makes it a little harder to get a match. The donor has to be somebody living.
Do you work? I am a pastor at a small church here. If you don't mind me asking, how much do you bring in a month? $2,500.
And how much do you usually spend a month? It can be three or four thousand dollars in a month. Sometimes there's a deficit and I have to catch [music] up. There are times when there is like notices to shut off utilities and things like that.
It happens. you don't have enough money to pay for this, Mhm. what happens? It doesn't come.
And what would happen if it didn't come? Well, then I would perish. I would die. When all the money goes out for dialysis, there's still rent to pay.
Um you know, I behind? [music] I am. I have a child and then I have my niece. Why is your niece living with you?
My mom was having some struggles. [music] She needs this and uh You can't even afford to pay your dialysis, dude. God [music] held the 99 to go back and get the one. Amen.
And so that's what I will always do. You know, [music] I may have months that I can't pay bills, but look at all the other things that God is doing in our lives. What would help take [music] some of the pressure off of you? First and foremost, a kidney.
Because if I have a kidney, then I don't need dialysis. How can I go check if I can donate my kidney? There is a link on a website. It'll ask you for my date of birth, which is 12 23 77.
You have to know my name, Steven Mills, and then you can register and they will contact you. My daughter is 13. I need to be here when she has prom and when she gets married and I need to be here for that. Does it scare you that you might [music] not be?
It is the most unsettling feeling in the world. How much money would you need to get by before you get a kidney? I've been waiting now for 20 months and the average is 60 to 70 months. Well, that's 50 more months and that's $2,000 a month.
That's a lot. So, Steven, I know this isn't going to solve all your problems, okay? But I came [music] here with $500. I want to give to you.
Please use this to take some of the pressure off. Steven, I actually have over 30 million followers online and I think my followers would love to come together and [music] help you. To be able to just know that I'm going to be able to be here to support my family, it would mean the world. It's not over, brother.
It's not over. Oh, thank [music] you. God will never, ever let you take it by yourself. He will always take the walk with you.
