Hey, excuse me. I ran out [music] of gas down the road. Honestly, I don't even have any gas. May I just use my $10 gift card?
Yeah. I feel bad taking it. Sure? If it was me, I would hope somebody would do the same.
I promise, you're good. What's your name? I'm Danny. I'm Josh, nice to meet you.
Nice to meet you, too. You had a gift card for here? Yeah, I had a $10 gift card uh gas card actually [music] that somebody gave me. You struggling, too?
Hell yeah. How so? financially. [music] Why'd you help me out?
No, if you're struggling, I feel bad. If I can help, I can help. So, I did what I got to get out of here. Yeah.
[music] Look, can I be honest with you? What's up? Come here quick. I got something.
It's $200. For me? Are you serious right now? What?
Are you sure? I'm sure. [music] Thank you. You didn't have it yourself.
I didn't have a dollar to my name before I just came. I wish that somebody would do the same thing for me if I was really out here struggling and needed the gas. Like, honestly, it could have literally [music] just been me if I didn't get that $10 gift card. When I told you no, it was just really heavy on my heart.
Like, [music] this could be me. Do you have a place? Yeah. Um we just got a place just this year.
Um [music] other than that, I just spent the last 3 years homeless. You were homeless? Yeah. Oh, so you know what it's like.
Living out here on these streets, yeah. You know what it's like. Literally outside. Yeah, I know exactly [music] what it's like to struggle and to need.
And I really lost myself after uh my baby brother and my nephew were murdered. There was like no hope in the world. Like, I I hated my life. I hated myself.
And I didn't think that my life would ever be the way that it is now, but by the grace of God, I found Teen Challenge, and I went there, and I did their program, and I'm sober now. You showing this act of kindness [music] just gave me a sign that like there's still good people out here in the world. And thank you so much. You deserve it.
