We raised you [music] $40,000. Two [music] months ago I met a man whose bank account was in the negative. Me and my wife struggle, but we remain to be faithful to God. [music] You have no idea my bank account is in the negative.
Please, can you take this $500 and use it for yourself? I want to give it back. [music] We're out here today bagging groceries for our non-profit, and we literally ask for donations to do so. The money that [music] you kindly gave us I'm giving to the non-profit because [music] we go out and we feed homeless people every day.
I later found out his family was about to be kicked out of his home. We're about [snorts] to be kicked out. Our person that we live with um brought to the landlord's attention about my criminal history. [laughter] Have you changed?
I have changed. 34 months ago I asked God to take away my craving for drugs. Did he? He did.
I don't know where I'm going to go right now. You're scared? I am scared. I'm scared for me.
I'm scared for my wife. I'm scared for my stepdaughter. I started a GoFundMe knowing my community would help James's family to find stable housing, and today I went to surprise him. We raised you [music] $40,000.
Josh, no. [singing] $40,000 for you, James. Come here and read this. I can't read this.
[laughter] It says, "Congratulations, you've been pre-qualified for a $250,000 home loan now." [music] I'm so proud of you. Dude. I'm so proud of you, dude. Dude.
What does this mean to you and your wife, James? It means that me and my wife aren't going to have to struggle, and that we're going to be able to move into a new house that we're going to buy. You're going to be a homeowner, dude. It's for me, my [music] wife, and my stepdaughter.
And our family. Thank you, Josh. Thank you, everyone [music] who helped donate, helped do everything. Thank you, Lord.
[music] What message do you want to send to people who are actively going through addiction like you were? God loves you so much. And that it's [music] never too late [singing] to get help. And if you're struggling, just reach out to God.
Just ask [music] him to help heal you, help take the pain away. To take the cravings away [music and singing] from your addiction. And just never give up.
