A Family Facing Eviction

Is all this stuff [music] yours? Yes, sir. What happened? I got put out of my apartment after being put in [singing] prison and getting out.

You just got out of prison? Yeah, I was in prison for [music] a year. For being a father, really. Trying to be a father.

My son's mom is against me being in my son's life. So, what are you going to do? [music] Stay positive. Get myself back up.

Um All this stuff is yours? Everything. Yeah. You selling it?

For free. Whoever whoever needs it can have it. Why don't you sell it? Right now, I can't keep it, so why not give it to somebody that that needs it?

I'mma be blessed regardless. Like I Huh? God makes a way all the time. All the time.

Were you paying rent? Yes. They kicked you out when you were paying [music] rent? I was paying rent.

So, I had a subsidized housing. 100 bucks a month cuz I had mental health. And when I got locked up, I lost my subsidy. And then my rent went to market rent.

It skyrocketed. [music] I had a program pay it for me, but they didn't pay in time. My bad thing was to keep let me keep [music] it. I said, "Hey, the money's coming." They said it's hypothetical.

Cuz they didn't pay in time, I got put out. But, it still got paid. How long were you locked up? A year.

[music] A year. And came home to this? Yeah. Yeah, I lost my apartment.

I had to take everything out and give [music] away for free. They gave me only [singing] a day and 3 hours to get everything out. They literally locked the doors [music] on me and said I cannot come in. Wow.

Not right, man. No, you're supposed to get at least 30 days. That's the law. Take it.

Take it. It's probably the hardest. Do you think God put you through this for a reason? Yes.

I learned a lot being in prison. All out time to do for me, so you just doing time. I always tell my friends, "Do not let the world's darkness dim your light." I ain't got it all figured out, and I feel honest. I'm ready [music] to just move on to to better things.

So, I got going to the halfway house that I got to be on time what time it is. I can give you a ride. Okay. [music] Let's go let's go bring you.
