RFC 6901 behavior

An empty pointer selects the root. Tokens decode ~1 as / and then ~0 as ~. Arrays accept canonical nonnegative indexes only; -, negative, leading-zero, nonnumeric, and out-of-range indexes fail clearly. Object keys remain exact, including numeric-looking keys.

Limits: 200,000 JSON characters and 4,096 pointer characters. This evaluates JSON Pointer only; it does not implement JSONPath queries, wildcards, filters, or mutations.
