Semantic structure, escaping, and limits

V1 supports 1–20 rows and 1–12 columns. When enabled, the first row becomes thead cells with scope="col"; remaining rows use tbody. An optional caption is placed first. Empty cells are preserved.

Source text escapes ampersands, less-than signs, and greater-than signs. The preview is rebuilt with createElement and textContent; user content never enters innerHTML. Each cell is limited to 500 characters. Styling, merged cells, row headers, and full spreadsheet behavior are outside V1.
