Method
The estimate uses the mean of up to eight recent intervals after excluding intervals outside 60%–140% of the median. Results round to the nearest BPM. A pause longer than three seconds starts a new set; intervals under 120 ms are ignored as accidental double taps.
No microphone is requested. Timestamps remain in memory and are not stored or transmitted.
