Mark Westcott

Mark Westcott is Josh Liljenquist's maternal uncle, the brother of Josh's mother Julie Ann Liljenquist, and the husband of Carrie Westcott. Their relationship grew through sports, family gatherings, regular check-ins, and Mark's habit of showing up for the people he loves.

Josh describes Mark as hardworking, competitive, compassionate, supportive, and family-oriented, someone whose texts and physical presence show that he is paying attention.

Checking in and showing up

Josh and Mark bonded through watching and discussing sports. When something important happens, Mark is often one of the first family members to text Josh. Josh notices and values those consistent check-ins.

Mark traveled from Fairmont to distant sporting events, including in Marshall, and still came when Josh was injured and could not play. Josh says his support was never about performance.

Work and practical help

Josh remembers Mark doing manual and skilled work with Trent and Tom through the family plumbing and heating business. Josh did not accompany Mark on most customer jobs.

It is a family recollection that the business sometimes provided free or reduced-cost work and that Mark consistently showed up to help. This page does not claim specific jobs that Josh did not personally observe.

Contentment and family loyalty
