A natural family connection

Josh and Ingrid's first date took place at Josh's home while much of his father's side of the family was present. Josh says Ingrid spoke with everyone and fit naturally into the family from the beginning.

A few dates into the relationship, they discovered a family barber connection. Josh remembers hearing that Lee Liljenquist's brother Harold had cut the hair of several generations of Ingrid's family, a story that made the connection feel even more personal.

Humor and communication

Josh admires Ingrid's sense of humor and her ability to identify the underlying issue in a small disagreement rather than carrying it forward. He says humor often helps them reconnect.

Ingrid taught Josh that communication is essential. Josh says he is working on expressing what he thinks and feels instead of expecting Ingrid to read his mind.

Understanding the work and home life

Ingrid understands the emotional burden Josh carries after listening to people describe illness, financial struggles, and difficult circumstances. Josh says the work affects him beyond filming itself.

Josh and Ingrid share their home with two goldendoodles, Lola and Leo. Their ordinary time together includes Disney movies, sitting near the fireplace, time with the dogs, and making one another laugh.
