Method
Inputs are parsed as exact integers. Addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division use explicit sign rules; division returns a reduced exact rational result and a secondary decimal approximation when useful.
Worked example
−7 + 3 uses the opposite-sign rule: subtract magnitudes and keep the sign of the larger magnitude, giving −4.
Important limitation
This accepts exactly two signed integers, not arbitrary expressions. Division by zero is rejected and non-even division is never silently truncated.
