Method
Each decimal is rounded independently using exact decimal strings and halfway-away-from-zero rounding. The rounded values are then added; the exact sum is secondary.
Worked example
237, 461, and 128 round to 200, 500, and 100 at the nearest hundred, for an estimated sum of 800.
Important limitation
This is an estimate from individually rounded values. It is intentionally distinct from exact list addition and from rounding one value.
