PPI terminology and equations
For digital images this calculator computes pixels per inch (PPI). DPI properly describes printer output dots and is not the same measurement. Modes use PPI = pixels ÷ inches, inches = pixels ÷ PPI, and required pixels = ceil(inches × PPI). Exact conversions use 1 inch = 2.54 cm = 25.4 mm. Quality labels are intentionally omitted.
