Method
The outside integer coefficient is multiplied into both terms: a(bx ± c) = abx ± ac. Exact integer arithmetic is used.
Worked example
3(2x + 5) expands to 6x + 15. −2(3x − 4) expands to −6x + 8.
Important limitation
V1 expands one structured, one-variable linear expression. It does not parse arbitrary expressions, factor polynomials, solve equations, or use a symbolic algebra service.
