Formula and method
Cycle time = net production time ÷ units produced. Production rate is the inverse relationship.
Worked example
8 hours across 240 completed units equals 2 minutes per unit and 30 units per hour.
Assumptions and limitations
Cycle time is not lead time or takt time. This calculator does not evaluate capacity, quality, staffing, or equipment performance.
