Huffman Coding Visualizer

Build a deterministic Unicode-aware Huffman tree, prefix-code table, encoded bits, and decoding proof from local text.

Private by design: inputs stay in this browser tab. The tool sends no input to a server and stores nothing after the page closes.

JavaScript is required for the interactive tool.

Method and limits

Segments text into Unicode code points, with at most 100,000 code points and 512 distinct symbols. Ties use frequency, leaf-before-internal, first occurrence, then creation order; left edges are 0 and right edges are 1. A single symbol receives code 0. Prefix-free and exact round-trip invariants are checked. The tool does not compress files or claim a storage ratio without headers.
