Wheel Offset Calculator

Compare nominal wheel widths and offsets to see how a proposed wheel shifts inward or outward relative to the hub.

Calculated result

Formula and method

Inner position = half nominal width (mm) + offset. Outer position = half nominal width (mm) โˆ’ offset. Inner clearance change = current inner position โˆ’ new inner position. Outer poke change = new outer position โˆ’ current outer position.

Worked example

Moving from 8 inches wide at +40 mm to 9 inches at +25 mm yields about 2.3 mm more inner clearance and 27.7 mm farther outward.

How to use this calculator

Enter the requested measurements, choose the units, and select Calculate. Change values and calculate again to compare scenarios. Results keep full numeric precision internally and round only for display.

Limits and common questions

A positive inner-clearance result means more room near the suspension; a positive outer result means more poke. This does not establish vehicle fitment: tires, brakes, bodywork, suspension, wheel lips, and real measured dimensions matter.

Are these values measured or estimated?

They are calculations from the inputs you provide, not independent measurements of a particular vehicle.

Are my inputs saved?

No. This calculator works in your browser tab without an account, upload, or calculator-input storage.
