Method and example
Amounts are parsed directly into integer cents, never subtracted as floating-point dollars. The fixed canonical set is $100, $50, $20, $10, $5, $1, 25¢, 10¢, 5¢, and 1¢. Greedy decomposition is minimum-piece for this fixed set. $20.00 − $13.37 = $6.63 using eight pieces.
